Education Forum in the South Bay, Senator Lieu

I have requested a town hall meeting with state leaders before.

They are providing some information on Obamacare, most of it misinformation.

Too much of the presentations revolve around throwing stats and figures at people so that no one can really understand what they are reading, hearing, and what they will be getting from the federal government.

State Senator Ted Lieu has not hosted any meeting on Obamacare.

He ought to set up something about public education here in the South Bay.

I have spoken with school board members as well as candidates.

I met with a local superintendent, who admitted that he does not know how much money the school district will have received until the end of the year.

There are no metrics or guidelines for determining whether school districts are spending their money appropriately or not.

The Local Control Funding Formula is "in name only". Local leaders still argue that Governor Brown and the state legislature are holding most of the cards, pulling most of the strings, and all the rest.

AB 1266 will prevent individuals of a decided gender to enter public school bathrooms. In the past, individuals who had changed their gender identity would use the nurse's office or another facility to change clothes and use the bathroom.

The potential abuses from this legislation, and the concerns about the proper role of the state and the much needed role of the family, deserves more attention, and more redress from our representatives.

School boards and superintendents have spoken highly of state senator Ted Lieu's efforts to forge a funding formula more equitable to suburban schools like Torrance and the Beach Cities.

Why would Lieu not want to host a forum discussing his efforts on behalf of our local schools, too?
